Alto Xingu is nestled in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, along the banks of the Xingu River, deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. She first ventured to the region in and immediately wanted to go back. Late last year, a unique opportunity presented itself—the chance to spend 10 days living with locals—and she cleared her schedule. From the moment she arrived, Weber felt warmly welcomed.

If there was to be a personification of summer, it would be the beach babe—or rather, perpetually sand-strewn vixen— Aline Weber. Here, Weber reflects back on her early life and career—from her mother's handmade clothing to her inherited bohemian sense of beach culture. Back then there were about 5, people living there, like a village! The inhabitants are mostly of German descent and a lot of the older people speak German with a heavy Brazilian accent.
